Brew our beans at home: the three-minute V60

By the Deja Brew bar team · Published 12 Jul 2026 · Amman, Jordan

Deja Brew roasted coffee beans bag

This is the exact recipe the bar uses to test every filter roast, scaled for one mug: 15 g of coffee, medium grind, 250 g of water just off the boil (around 94°C). Rinse the paper, add the coffee, level the bed.

Pour one: 45 g of water, swirl gently, wait 40 seconds — that's the bloom, and skipping it is why home V60s taste flat. Pour two: spiral slowly to 150 g. Pour three: top up to 250 g. Total brew time should land between 2:45 and 3:15. Drink it slightly cooled; that's where the fruit shows up.

Troubleshooting in one line each: tastes sour → grind finer or water hotter. Tastes bitter → grind coarser, pour slower. Tastes like nothing → your beans are stale, not your technique. Ours are roasted in small batches and ground to your brewer at either branch — the Filter/American roast (9.5 JD) is the one to start with.
